TRANSFORMING LIVES THROUGH EDUCATION

It is an honour and a privilege to be leading such an extraordinary school. Since our establishment in September 2019, our journey has been unconventional, marked by its unique challenges, and I am immensely proud of the dedication, kindness, and resilience displayed by our students and staff. Coupled with the unwavering support from our community, SFG has truly become an extraordinary place to learn and grow.

At SFG, we firmly believe in the transformative power of education. It serves as the cornerstone of our ethos, opening doors of opportunity and shaping futures. Our commitment lies not only in ensuring our students survive but thrive in their educational journey, nurturing their aspirations and dreams.

It is our vision that every student leaving us possesses the skills, qualifications, and habits necessary for a successful and fulfilling life ahead. We acknowledge the barriers many of our students face, particularly those who are disadvantaged or have special educational needs. These barriers, including poor literacy and numeracy skills, limited exposure beyond our town, and low self-confidence, significantly impact their academic and personal development. This can potentially lead to lower employment levels, poor mental health, and a lack of readiness for life in the 21st century.

In addressing these challenges, we concentrate on development of language, knowledge, and confidence, which underpin the direction and development of all areas in our school.

I invite you to visit SFG and meet our students and staff. Only through this personal interaction will you gain insight into the essence of our school culture and the values we hold so dear. Tours are available during the Autumn term of each academic year. I look forward to welcoming you to our extraordinary school.
