Lunchtime is one of the key parts of our school day. We eat lunch ‘family dining’ style. Regardless of whether pupils opt for school meals or a packed lunch, pupils sit down together and eat together. Our staff also eat with the children to encourage and model good conversations, good behaviours and good habits. We serve each other food and help tidy away together; adults and children.
Family dining provides a great opportunity to continue discussions on 'Thought For the Day' which pupils listen to every morning.
Staff enjoy dining with the pupils as this strengthens our relationship with the young people in our care which means our staff know our pupils well and are able to identify any issues should they arise.
