A-Level Options

Our curriculum offer is made up of A-Level subjects that are favoured by top universities. Students will study a combination of three A-Levels and will have the option to study the Extended Project Qualification, EPQ.

In September 2024 we will be offering the following A-Level subjects:

Art English Literature PE
Biology French Physics
Chemistry Geography Psychology
Classical Civilisation History Politics
Computer Science Latin Sociology
Economics Maths / Further Maths Spanish

Although we expect to run all the courses, too small a take-up may result in a course being withdrawn - we will do everything possible to avoid this happening. Multiple teaching groups will run for more popular courses.

Choosing A-Level Subjects

Choosing A-Level subjects is an important decision and deserves careful deliberation.

Students should consider the following:

  1. Do not assume the course will be similar to GCSE. Find out what it involves and the methods by which you will be assessed.
  2. Do not choose a subject simply because you are good at it now. Choose subjects you find exciting and stimulating. To be successful at sixth form you must be willing to work very hard, so make sure the subjects you choose interest you.
  3. Aim for subjects which complement each other, but keep your options open.
  4. Be aware of the requirements that different degree courses may have. More information is available in our University Course Requirements Booklet.
