Pupil Welfare
Welfare and safety of our pupils are the responsibility of all adults working or volunteering at SFG.
We know that a supportive environment, in school and at home, is important for the success of our pupils. Pupil Welfare Team is available to provide advice and guidance to our families to ensure that our pupils receive the best possible education and that there are no barriers to their learning.
Form Tutors
Form Tutors are essential to the success of our pupils as they are advocates, champions, critical friends and advisors to our pupils. Form Tutors are the first person pupils will approach should they need advice or support. Through regular daily contact with their tutees, form tutors will ensure that our pupils are safe, ready for learning and are succeeding.
Head of Year
Heads of Year are responsible for pupils in their particular year group and each will be supported by a Pastoral Manager from year three.
Learning Mentor
Learning mentors provide support and guidance to pupils who are experiencing difficulties in learning due to social, emotional or behavioural problems or other issues.
SENCO
Our Designated Special Educational Needs Coordinator is responsible for coordinating our SEND and Nurture provisions. This is to ensure that the needs of all pupils are met; particularly our most vulnerable pupils.
SLT
Pupil Welfare Team is lead by a senior member of staff who oversees all aspects of pastoral care including Safeguarding and SEND/LAC provision.
